Jeffrey W. Eckel » vCard

Jeffrey W. EckelMr. Eckel serves as our president & chief executive officer, as chairman of our board of directors and as a member of our Investment Committee. He has led Hannon Armstrong in the role of president and CEO since 2000 and was also with the firm from 1985 to 1989. Previously, he held senior executive positions as CEO of EnergyWorks, LLC and Wärtsilä Power Development. He currently serves as a member on the Board of Directors for the Alliance to Save Energy, the President's Council of Ceres, Inc., the Cornell University Program in Infrastructure Policy advisory board and the Johns Hopkins Environmental, Energy, Sustainability and Health Institute’s advisory council.   Mr. Eckel has over 30 years of experience in structuring, executing and operating energy and infrastructure investments. Mr. Eckel received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in 1980 and a Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, in 1981.

J. Brendan Herron » vCard

J. Brendan HerronMr. Herron serves as an executive vice president and as our chief financial officer. He also serves on the Investment Committee. Mr. Herron held a variety of roles at Hannon Armstrong and its affiliates from 1994 to 2005 and was a senior vice president with us from 2011 to 2013. He has over 20 years of experience in structuring, executing and operating infrastructure and technology investments. From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Herron was the vice president of Corporate Development & Strategy for Current Group, LLC, a provider of smart grid technology to electric utilities. He served from 2010 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2014 on the U.S. Commerce Secretary’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee.  Mr. Herron is presently a member of the Board of Trustees of Calvert Hall College High School (Baltimore, MD). Prior to joining Hannon Armstrong, Mr. Herron served in several financial and strategy roles at the U.S. corporate office of Aggregate Industries PLC, where he established and managed the U.S. financial organization including financial reporting. Mr. Herron received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and computer science from Loyola University Maryland in 1982 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola University Maryland in 1987 and has passed the CPA and CMA examinations.

Steven L. Chuslo » vCard

Steven L. ChusloMr. Chuslo is the general counsel and executive vice president for Hannon Armstrong. Mr. Chuslo is responsible for all internal governance matters, has been the general counsel since 2008 and is actively involved in structuring, developing, negotiating and closing transactions for Hannon Armstrong. He has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of securities, commercial, finance, energy and environment, U.S. federal regulation and project finance. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Chuslo was the senior legal and finance advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. He has also served as general counsel to EnergyWorks, LLC (initially a subsidiary of Bechtel Construction Company and the Oregon based utility, Pacific Corp and subsequently sold to the Spanish utility, Iberdrola), from 1996 to 2001. Mr. Chuslo was an associate attorney for Chadbourne & Parke, LLP from 1994 to 1995, practicing in the power project finance group and earlier with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP from 1990 to 1994, practicing in the corporate finance group. Mr. Chuslo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst in 1982 and a Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1990.

M. Rhem Wooten » vCard

M. Rhem WootenMr. Wooten is the executive vice president, origination and has been with Hannon Armstrong as a managing director since October 2010. Mr. Wooten has worked in the energy industry for more than 30 years, and has extensive experience in project development, commodity trading/risk management and project finance. Mr. Wooten previously held a number of senior management positions, including serving as president of Duke Energy Corporation’s domestic and international independent power production affiliates from 1988 to 1996, as managing director, origination and operations of Duke/Louis Dreyfus from 1996-1997, chief executive officer of Merchant Energy Group of the Americas (MEGA) from 1997 to 2000, as president and chief executive officer of Pradium, Inc. from 2000 to 2001 and as president of Allied Syngas Corporation from 2004 to 2010. Mr. Wooten received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1981. He holds Series 63 and 79 securities licenses.

Nathaniel J. RoseMr. Rose is the chief operating officer and executive vice president.  Mr. Rose is responsible for the overall business processes as well as structuring and analyzing the Company's transactions.  Mr. Rose has been with Hannon Armstrong since 2000 in a variety of roles and has been involved with a vast majority of our transactions since 2000. He earned a joint Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond in 2000, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Darden School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia in 2009, is a CFA charter holder and has passed the Certified Public Accountant examination.  He holds a Series 63 and 79 securities licenses.

Daniel K. McMahon, CFA » vCard

Daniel K. McMahonMr. McMahon has been with Hannon Armstrong since 2000 in a variety of roles, most recently as a senior vice president since 2007, and currently serves us as an executive vice president responsible for originating and executing transactions with the Company's government customers.   He has played a role in analyzing, negotiating and structuring several billion dollars of transactions.  Mr. McMahon previously worked with T. Rowe Price from 1997 to 2000. Mr. McMahon received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, San Diego in 1993, and is a CFA charterholder. He holds Series 24, 63 and 79 securities licenses.

Susan Nickey » vCard

Susan NickeyMs. Nickey joined Hannon Armstrong in 2014 as a managing director. Prior to that, she founded and served as CEO of Threshold Power. Prior to working at Threshold, she served as CFO at ACCIONA Energy North America from 2007-2010 and before that as Managing Director of Investment Banking in the Project Finance Group of Mesirow Financial. Ms. Nickey currently serves on the board of directors of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE). She has previously served on the Governor of Nevada's Renewable Energy Development Program Task Force and the Legislative and Finance Committees for the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). She was named one of Women's eNews' 21 Leaders for the 21st Century for her leadership in sustainable development. Ms. Nickey holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
